“Finding properties like stretch, comfort, moisture wicking etc. was very difficult to find in any workout clothes except of polyester (which is essentially plastic). And due to lack of good quality alternatives we are forced to use the same and let our skin be suffocated in plastic cladded clothes. Thus began my journey of bringing high quality products that not only would be good for the skin but also to Mother Earth,” elaborates Shubham.

Apart from this, the pants are manufactured using natural cotton and they are organically dyed from fruits and vegetable pulp and peels.

The brand currently operates from its office in Gurugram, Haryana and served over 1050 customers in a short span of 8 months. They have seen 220% growth compared to the first quarter of its launch to the current quarter. Meera had always been inclined towards art and craft since birth. At the age of just 13 she began teaching art to students in her neighborhood and continues her passion for teaching till date. “I teach students a variety of art forms such as painting, crafting, creating resin products, ceramic art and so on. Through my Instagram page, Handcrafted by Meera Savla I showcase my own creations as well as conduct workshops for my students and have taught more than 3000 students in my career. But I realized that why not I manufacture these supplies and start my own business of selling these products?” shares the founder.

Locked Down

The need to start her own venture during the lockdown pushed Meera to give her creativity a physical manifestation. Thus began the story of Misaa The Crafter’s Delight. Due to the lockdown restrictions the flow of art supplies was very slow as most shops were shut. With a lot of encouragement from my family, I took the decision of sourcing and selling these elements myself,” reveals Meera.

Currently Meera operates through her studio space in Thane and stores her stock in the studio itself. With an aim to promote creativity and arts and craft, the brand undertakes custom orders and seeks to give clients exactly what they envision. This has helped the brand create a loyal fanbase and ensured repeat orders. With a wide range of products including resin trays, clocks, name plates, key holders, coasters and many more, Meera has surely been bitten by the creative bug.

Since teaching is her ultimate passion, Meera continues to share her knowledge with art students and simultaneously runs Misaa alongside.
