Tulsi Resin Store: This sibling trio has established the best epoxy resin art supply brand in India

Tulsi Resin Store

Despite being around for more than half a century, it’s only recently that resin art has come into the mainstream market, capturing the attention of art lovers with its soothing aesthetics and timeless appeal. What started out as a creative exercise to kill lockdown blues eventually became a prospective business venture for many.

Let’s talk about a startup that strives to bring out that “hidden artist” within you through the versatility of resin art. Launched on 17th July 2020, Tulsi Resin Store is the brainchild of three young and talented siblings, each involved in a field of expertise quite different from the other. We’ve 24-year-old CA Gaurav Agarwal, 23-year-old artist Priya Agarwal and 19-year-old Vaastu Consultant Yogita Agarwal joining hands to establish a company that aims to “provide the best available resin art products and ensure utmost convenience in purchasing material for resin art”.

As Benjamin Disraeli rightly said “There is no education like adversity”

The road to entrepreneurship has been laden with life-shaping experiences and priceless learnings for the gifted siblings. Essentially a financial expert, Gaurav’s heart beats for creativity and innovation. He had left his already established business which was clocking a turnover of 10 Cr, as he developed a keen interest in resin art.

Even though Yogita is the youngest entrepreneur amongst the 3, she has added a lot of value to this business. She was really enthusiastic to do something great in the field of art. Without her contribution, Tulsi Resin Store would not have achieved this success. She creates a rapport with every customer she interacts with. She has handled customer queries & requests with so much professionalism that customers have always felt connected. This has helped them build trust with the brand.

Priya’s expertise lies in a multitude of art forms such as Resin, Painting, Sketching, Terrazzo, String Art and Hand casting. Due to the paucity of art suppliers during the post lockdown phase of Covid, she faced difficulty in arranging materials for her art. It required immense effort to source different things from different suppliers. Soon, the trio came up with the idea of “arranging all materials related to art under one roof”. Within a week “we launched our page and we got so much love from the artist community that we never looked back since then.”

Fill your cart with art

With around 5000+ high-quality SKUs, Tulsi Resin Store boasts of the widest range of products related to Resin Art. Be it resin, pigments, Silicon moulds, MDF bases, glitters, stones and custom stickers – everything you need is right here!

It supplies three types of resins, each with a distinct characteristic and application. Having more than 90 shades of pigment colors, 250+ designs in molds and 150+ designs in ready bases, the brand is on the cusp of great success owing to its extraordinary collection of art supplies. Moreover, in recent time custom-made vinyl stickers and vintage resin frames are hitting off really well with customers.

For Tulsi Resin Store, the “focus is not only on products but also on customer experience; as art comes directly from the heart.” It guarantees safe, hassle-free and timely product delivery for its 15000+ customer base, managing to churn out 1500-1800 orders per month with absolute ease. Its impeccable customer service  ensures “ repeat customers ratio of 50% “.

“Despite majorly operating in India, we have shipped our products in more than 17 Countries including (United Arab Emirates, Oman, USA, UK, Germany and Canada) and we have 4550 Visitors on website from more than 30 countries” adds Gaurav.

The founders soon plan to explore the international market too.

Tulsi Resin Store: Growing at a fast pace

What started out as a modest enterprise with a modest Instagram page eventually blossomed into a thriving business venture with its own website (tulsiresin.com) amassing more than 1.75 lakh site visitors from different parts of the world and a community of 25000 followers. This outstanding growth coupled with a rating of 4.9 stars on Google Maps reflects its adherence to superior quality, affordability and incredible customer support.

Besides Resin Art, the brand intends to add all art related products from pencil sketch to Home décor. Very soon they have plans to expand into other arenas such as Terrazzo and Macrame. In the next five years, it’s hopeful of being the go-to store for every artist in the country. After all, “every artist should know that there’s a place where you can get anything you ever wanted for your art piece.”

Kaizen by Sonali Chitale: Here’s an all-encompassing design studio offering a sweeping range of services to accommodate your design needs from start to finish

Kaizen by Sonali Chitale

Designs have the power to change our perception of the space around us and have a bearing on our temperament, health and productivity. There’s more to interior design than just beautiful aesthetics. It’s about making efficient use of the spaces, thus ensuring a happier, safer and pleasant life. Interestingly, the popularity of several design studios have skyrocketed in the last decade.

Launched on 16th August, 2011 by accomplished interior designer Sonali Chitale, Kaizen is the “360-degree design studio” that works on a wide variety of design projects which includes creating unique products and spaces without compromising on the quality at any cost. The brand is passionate about finding sustainable and eco-friendly options to promote the use of such products for the welfare of the environment. Moreover, the brand collaborates with local artists in an endeavor to induce authenticity in its designs and creations. “To be able to keep growing” in terms of innovation and versatility is what Kaizen strives for.

How the Kaizen tale began

There’s no greater influence than the influence of our parents. That’s the take away from Sonali’s story. Since both her parents hail from an architectural background, young Sonali was exposed to the world of architecture and interior design right from her childhood. She eventually became a landscape designer and polished her skills while working on interior design projects.

Thereafter, Sonali began creating accessories and designing spaces for the hospitality industry. Gradually she realized it was time to open her own store that would cater to all interior and product design projects. Thus, armed with profound experience and unbridled talent, Sonali embarked on an exciting journey to set up Kaizen.

Kaizen: A fresh take on design with an eye on the environment

Kaizen is essentially a design house that employs creativity and innovation to push the boundaries of modern-day designs. As a design studio that is motivated to use sustainable options, Kaizen displays commitment towards environment conservation with the usage of natural, reusable and even recycled materials in its products. In fact, this enterprise proves to the world that it’s possible to combine economic gain and environmental wellbeing without sacrificing one for the other.

Kaizen duly recognises the passion, dedication and hard work that local artisans pour into their creations. It collaborates with them and brings their work into the mainstream market. A wide range of designs, starting from interiors and products to fabric and landscape, are often customized to incorporate client requirements, thus rendering an individualistic feel to the final product. In an attempt to create a personalized experience that caters to cultural diversity, the startup has joined hands with the best creative minds from all over the world. So here at Kaizen, a contemporary design would look as convincing as a traditional Asian-inspired one.

Sonali further adds “What makes Kaizen special is that we make our products, usually customize them in a creative & innovative manner to ensure personal service & satisfaction for our customers.”

And miles to go…

Owing to its inspiring creativity and unorthodox designs, Kaizen has grown by leaps and bounds since the day of its inception. While the current projects are based in India, the brand is gearing up for its foray into the international market.  In the coming years, it aims to actively promote the unparalleled skills of local artisans and establish a global presence for such underrated works of art.

The Yellow Brush: Championing the art of upcycling waste with a creative mind and an artistic twist.

The Yellow Brush

Creativity is making marvellous out of the discarded. This mother-daughter duo is bringing their creativity to life with ‘The Yellow Brush’.

This Pandemic has given the choice and a chance to a lot of individuals to practice their hobby and turn it into a business. The founder of ‘The Yellow Brush’ Tanvi Dua would like to be included amongst one of those extraordinary minds to have come out of this pandemic with a happy story.

Like what you do, do what you like….

Tanvi had a knack for drawing and painting from the age of 6 and hence she chose to study further in design and art. Like any teenager, Tanvi would casually sit for some drinks with her friends but after the party, wouldn’t want to simply throw away the bottles. She loved painting on the empty liquor bottles and upcycle them into a flower pot, a light lamp or just a catchy showpiece to hang on a wall. Tanvi would then gift these artistic bottles to her friends on birthdays. Encouraged by the appreciation received from her friends, Tanvi went ahead and launched ‘The Yellow Brush’.

With the Pandemic happening and a lot of things changing around us, Tanvi didn’t want to give up on her hobby of painting just because of the growing pressure form her corporate job. With her mother by her side, Tanvi started to do a lot more of what made her happy and that was painting and upcycling.

In 2020, at the age of 28 and with not more than 5 thousand rupees, along with an aim to sensitize people towards upcycling waste, Tanvi and her mom started to paint on everything they found such as bottles, jars, tins – you name it and they have painted it!

A rough start…

With a lot of mass produced, cheaper options available in the market, people weren’t receptive towards giving the monetary value that ‘The Yellow Brush’ products deserved. Although, it took some time and explanations for Tanvi to make her customers understand the efforts and time required to make the beautifully handcrafted art pieces, it turned out to be all worth it today.

The Present progress…

The unique approach of hand-painting items has earned ‘The Yellow Brush’ a loving family of more than 10,000 followers and customers on Instagram. Customers are in love with the Sisterhood theme painted by Tanvi and the intricate paintings of wildlife such flowers and birds by her mother and co-founder. Apart from the usual, Tanvi and her mother are painting adorable coasters, tea cups, tea glasses, kettles, planters etc for their home-décor collection.

Long road ahead…

In the future, Tanvi wants to set up a platform where she can encourage people to learn, paint or purchase and upcycle waste items. Tanvi aims to expand and have a team of artists working under her brand. Having already impressed Unacademy, a leading Indian educational technology company with bulk Diwali orders, now Tanvi concentrates on international export of her products.

For any customised orders, you can reach ‘The Yellow Brush’ on Instagram @theyellowbrush.studio or browse through various options available on www.theyellowbrush.com.

Akira Handicrafts: Customized Jewellery and Home Décor Products for Macramé Lovers

Akira Handicrafts

Macramé is a crafting technique that uses knots to create various textiles. This age-old practice has gained popularity in the recent years. This method will always be around because of its practicality and sustainability. Crafters and artists are coming up with innovative ways to take macramé beyond the basic plant hangers and wall hangings.

24-year-old entrepreneur Shwetha Jois is a young and dynamic woman, who has embraced the intricate art of macramé. With its textured knots and aesthetically pleasing twists, she has managed to weave a lucrative home decor and jewellery business venture by the name of Akira Handicrafts India. Her love for travel led her to explore various international products since the tender age of 16. She learnt how to make various objects like dream catchers, crystal necklaces, wall hangings and much more.

Practice Makes Perfect

Akira Handicrafts

Shwetha met a friend from Germany, who taught her the art of jewellery making using macramé threads. She sourced the best quality materials from Brazil and spent her free time perfecting her craft for 2 years. She learned about sustainability of threads, the inner workings of the home décor industry, various sales and marketing strategies and was ready to launch her own brand with an initial investment of Rs 50,000.

On 15th August 2021, Akira Handicrafts was incorporated in Bangalore when Shwetha was 24 years old. The brand offers several home décor items using macramé threads. The threads adorn dream catchers, wall hangings and an assorted collection of jewellery pieces.

Akira Handicrafts

“One of the USPs of Akira is customization and a personal touch. I create customized jewellery using various shades as per the client’s preference.
