“People who love to eat are always the best people” – Julia Child

Good food is the foundation of genuine happiness. Even if one is not a foodie, it’s hard to resist the temptation of gorging on mouthwatering dishes.

In today’s digital age, experimentation with a wide assortment of cuisines has almost become a norm. The emergence of online food delivery platforms has been a blessing in disguise for food lovers who love to eat to their heart’s content. Launched on 19th September 2020 by the talented duo Deblina Datta & Debargha Sengupta, Tango is an online food delivery platform that has stepped into this competitive market with a customer-friendly attitude. The new kid in the block has already made a confident debut by successfully starting operations in three major cities of West Bengal.

Charting out a new course

Every successful start-up enterprise begins, not with funds or finances, but with ground-breaking ideas.

Reminiscing about the journey so far, co-founder Debargha says “Initially Tango was supported by partner Deblina Datta when no one believed in me! She was the one who supported me in the initial days of the startup. And yes my mother also supported me all the time! She taught me the virtue of patience and reiterated her belief that good things take time”.

Tale of Tango

tango food delivery app

Tango is a hyperlocal food delivery app based out of Kolkata. The reason behind creating this app was to make hyperlocal delivery available & affordable not only in metro cities but also in two & three tier cities. Although many food delivery apps have cropped up in recent times, what makes Tango stand apart is its impeccable customer service and efficient use of technology.

Tango’s area of operation includes Kolkata, Asansol & Kharagpur in West Bengal. It has plans to expand to other cities after the festive season and to major states around January-February 2021.

Though launched only a month ago, it has already completed orders more than expected calculations.

What makes Tango a current favorite

tango food delivery app

Here, the consumer gets search options based on three segments that is, 4 km, 7km & 9km and above which is unlike other competitors and this particular feature not only makes the user see the nearby restaurants & merchants but also the ones far away around the city. Tango has its own fleet of delivery persons who are equipped with smart phones and the TANGO Online Application. Unlike other apps, it does not have a minimum order policy.

Another feature which is unique is that they not only provide customers an application for placing orders but also there is another offline way of ordering by dialing their Toll Free Number. Tango provides many lucrative offers for the first timers thereby adding to its popularity quotient.

Let’s peep into the revenue model

Tango charges commissions from restaurants & merchants on every order they receive through the Tango Online App. This commission is generally a percentage which is inclusive of all taxes.

There is a delivery fee (plus other taxes) for each order that a customer places on the app. But there is no surge pricing for the customer during night hours or festive seasons.

Dream Traders Consultancy: How a stock trading institute is transforming competent traders out of ordinary dreamers

Dream-Traders-Consultancy

The world of stocks and shares is as turbulent as its tantalizing. In India almost 95% new traders jump into trading without prior knowledge or experience, thinking that Stock Market is a quick rich scheme and lose all their hard-earned money in a couple of days.

Launched on 28th Feb 2020 by Akash Kashyap along with Mr. Wasiuz Zaman and Mr. Bibhash Sarma , Dream Traders Consultancy is an enterprise that trains individuals in stock-market trading thus helping them become independent, full-time traders with a lucrative career. It has given ample guidance to young, ambitious minds who’re choosing stock market trading as a full-time career.

Dream Traders Consultancy: Road traversed so far

Dream Traders Consultancy

Akash first discovered the stock market in 2014 through the movie ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’. That piqued his interest and led to more research and information gathering. However, lack of proper guidance deterred him from pursuing this any further.

In April 2016, a chance of meeting with an actual trader led to hours of discussion and days of research. Finally, with a go-getter attitude, he opened a DEMAT account and slowly started learning the skills of trading. The burning desire to become a professional trader saw him through a loss of Rs. 25000. He became more determined to make an impact.

Since in India the courses were either too expensive or were conducted by inexperienced trainers, self-education/training was the only reliable option. Books, online videos, workshops – he learnt whatever he could lay his hands on.

Few months later, trading began and owing to a unique strategy named as CP-20 (Consistent Profits for 20 days, as there are 20 trading days in a month), he started making enough profits to switch towards a full-time trading career, thus taking a giant leap towards fulfilling his dream.

An institute that transforms dreams to reality

Along with his cousin brother Mr. Bibhash Sarma and his childhood friend Mr. Wasiuz Zaman, both Stock Market Traders, Akash founded Dream Traders Consultancy hoping to reach out to new, inexperienced traders who would be able to easily access online classrooms from their cellphones at an affordable cost. Courses were priced at almost twice the value for the fee charged.

The only way to succeed in stock market is through adequate knowledge and proper training for an extensive period of time. DTC offers courses of 3 types: Master, Zero-to-Hero and Basic Course. Master course is in high demand and loved by the Stock Market Trading Community. It starts from Basic Grassroot level to Professional level comprising of 10 Intraday Strategies including the Famous CP-20 Strategy, Risk Management, Controlling Emotions, Trading Psychology, Portfolio Management and Life-time support to every student.

It comprises of 80 Live Sessions. After-class study materials are provided in the form of PDF files & videos along with periodic assignments. Each student is minutely assessed and trained accordingly. In terms of fees, it charges the lowest in India for the value, knowledge and time provided along with instalment fee payment.

Dream Traders Consultancy: Journey into the future

dream_traders_consultancy

The journey so far has been an extremely rewarding one. While presently the institute is spread across 22 States of India from Jammu to Kerala and from Gujrat to Assam and also in 3 Countries: UAE, Kuwait and Oman, the future holds immense possibilities with the DTC team all set to create superior facilities and better courses for a wider appeal and higher success rate.

UpcycleLuxe: A Promising Platform That Is Transforming The Face Of Sustainable Fashion In India

upcycle luxe

Sustainable fashion in India is in its nascent stage and vastly comprises of unorganized sector. Consumers here have a high purchasing affinity (87%)* but lack of awareness of sustainable brands (83%)*. The sustainable products don’t mention the impact contribution. Also, the products are not truly what the brands claim to be. Considering the bleak scenario of sustainable fashion in India, many start-ups are wary of taking a plunge into this sector. However, a few daring ventures have embraced the challenges and opportunities presented by sustainable fashion.

Soon to be launched, UpcycleLuxe is an emerging player that is all set to redefine luxury fashion by creating an ethical, sustainable and eco-efficient textile & apparel industry. The company believes that eco-friendly products should reflect sustainability in their value. The main vision is to build a huge sustainable fashion & lifestyle community, by offering disruptive technologies, enabling innovative and transformative ways of sustainable fashion through the process of change by adding value at each step of our product development.

UpcycleLuxe: Changing the face of sustainable fashion

upcycle_luxe

For the founder Harshita Chandra, the journey started while working for huge labels in the fashion industry when she realized that a huge amount of industry-waste was being dumped into the landfills annually. Other problems in the supply chain became all-too evident. A lot of finger-pointing happens with consumers blaming brands for paying low wages to outsource workers and activist organizations urging brands to follow a business model that prioritizes low-cost profits. In fact, the fashion industry is the second most polluting in the world, though 82% of the people don’t consider fashion a contributor.

Harshita further added “That’s when I found an upcycle homegrown fashion label where we used factory waste to manufacture bags and accessories. Since the concept of sustainability was new, we manufactured a capsule collection for a few designers back then. I soon figured out that the industry is unorganized and the chapter of sustainability can’t be heard alone. So I came up with the idea of bringing together all sustainable brands on a single platform which believes sustainability is just not a trend but a lifestyle where indulgence in intricacies brings in each product a luxury makeover. “

Thus, along with the co-founder Shubham Jain, she started the journey of creating a sustainable fashion platform UpcycleLuxe, that integrated science-based sustainable target solutions into it.

UpcycleLuxe: Where Green is the new Luxury

Upcycle Luxe Sustainable Fashion

UpcycleLuxe is redefining the views on luxury fashion by calling ‘Green is the new Luxury’. It is a one-stop fashion-tech sustainable platform for clothing and accessories that pushes to live a low-impact lifestyle. It will connect consumers with home- grown brands that create innovative products using organic fabrics & industry waste. On-board brands are certified organic and practice transparent supply chain. They will ensure science-based sustainability target solutions on the platform making the platform the only one of its kind.

A Go-Green Future

Upcycle Luxe Sustainable Fashion

By 2025, UpcycleLuxe would cater to 1 billion consumers to convert their buying decision to sustainable. Though based primarily in India, the company will consider reaching out to foreign markets depending on revenue and customer response.

Talerang is offering customized career training with an aim to make graduates future-ready

talerang career councling

Established in 2013 by Shveta Raina, Talerang offers training to students and professionals with one motive, making a word-ready India. It expects to upskill 20 million students in 2020.

India Skills Report said just 46.21 percent of graduates were work prepared in the present market. The number was a critical increment from 33 percent in 2014, however it actually implied that practically 50% of India’s graduates were to a great extent unemployable. Shveta Raina’s main goal is to create work-prepared graduates for India through a model researched at Harvard Business School. India has more than 35,000 universities and an enormous piece of the populace in the age group of 15-25 years. With more than 10 million graduating every year, this is a Huge market.

Mumbai-based Talerang professes to be the main mover that gives a end to end training in the highly fragmented training market. The startup offers customized training to students and professionals.

Talerang: How the journey began

While working as a Director at Teach for India in 2011, Shveta spoke to many students who were unaware of the courses available in the market, confused about their careers, and unsure about where their passions lay. She found that while a portion of these students were academically great, they had very little practical knowledge. They did not have the correct counsel and direction, and she chose to address the issue.

Her research started when she was a student at Harvard Business School in 2012. Alongside her Professor Das Narayan Das and in organization with Sinhali Deshpande, presently Talerang’s Curriculum Lead, she closely worked with students who were soon going to enter the corporate world.

Talerang was launched as a simple, high quality solution to India’s work-readiness crisis and started by offering offline career training to students and professionals, followed by access to internships and jobs. This was layered with lifelong mentorship and access to a strong community of leaders and mentors.

They initially started with just college students but now they have programs for candidates from the age of 13 to 30. It went from preparing 100 students in the first year to more than 100,000 in around six years.

Talerang has seen a spike in enrolments in the past few months due to the pandemic. Applications have doubled for all courses, a tremendous growth of 100 percent.

Yashi loved how jewelry design gave her the freedom to express and experiment. The magical transformation of an idea into a piece of art fascinated her. She explains “Having an enriching experience of the Telecom industry for over 8 years managing the product and marketing, I had to quit the industry post my delivery in Feb 2016. Being independent all my life, I refused to sit idle and thought of starting up my passion of fashion jewelry with the vision of making the pieces that look real but reasonable!”

Yashi finally established HOD Juels, a brand that’s all about beautifully translating a design from a sketch to a well-researched charmingly handcrafted piece of art that is cherished by the valued customers for its contemporary and timeless quality.

High On Design Juels: Where jewelry creation is more of an art than an enterprise

High On Design Juels

High On Design Juels manifests in its designs the power of freedom and individuality. Each design embodies the philosophy of originality and uniqueness; the jewelry is minimalistic, pragmatic, clean and contemporary. It uses an amalgamation of metals like silver, brass and gold making each piece an extraordinary creation of exquisite design and luxury. High quality stones and metal are used to avoid tarnishing for a longer period.

Hand-crafted to perfection, each gorgeous piece of limited edition jewelry tells the tale of the expert artisanal quality and unparalleled design that translates each piece of jewelry into a work of art.

High On Design Juels

Carving a bright future

Although the journey wasn’t a smooth one, Yashi and her team successfully turned the roadblocks into milestones. She elaborates “Often, we felt there is too much competition in the market for the same. But we believed in our product and the multiplication of our loyal clients helped us grow vertically. We do not fear competition as we keep upgrading as per the market and the customer needs.”

Besides India, the startup has made significant progress in the USA, Singapore and UAE.

Finally, an ever-enthusiastic Yashi signs off saying “We aim to take the brand completely online and make the brand available in every corner of the country and expand to many more countries.”

Dhyana: How a biomedical R&D venture came up with a unique technological solution for efficiently tracking your meditation

Smart Dhyana meditation

Several technological solutions have emerged in the market that have bowled us over with their innovative concept and astounding finesse. One such ground-breaking device that has revolutionized meditation and mindfulness is Dhyana, an immersive, new-age app that guides you through intense meditation sessions and keeps track of your daily progress. Launched in April 2019, Dhyana has been created by startup enterprise Avantari, under the leadership of its prolific and passionate founder Bhairav Shankar.  In a short span of time, Avantari has successfully explored and mastered new technological territories, thus beating the tech giants to emerge a top player of the game.

A meditative journey began

dhyana meditation ring

Avantari started out as a biomedical engineering company conducting contract R&D. However, a project on HRV (Heart Rate Variability– a component of the human body that indicates how stressed or relaxed the body is) led to a change in the company’s line of thought.

Here’s what they said “We noticed that meditators’ HRV changed drastically during meditation, with signs of change occurring during breathing, relaxation and focus. Though we approached meditation with skepticism, the hard evidence was irrefutable. Doubts regarding correct process of meditation was being answered by this one metric. However, HRV wasn’t easy to detect with only EKG machines in hospitals doing a reliable job. A product was needed that could lead young people through science towards meditation.”

Meditation plays a vital role in combating mental health, stress and anxiety. In 2009, the Nobel Prize for medicine was won on this very fact, that meditation reversed signs of ageing, making people look younger, stop their hair from greying and their skin from wrinkling. This led the Avantari team to decide that this was a product they needed to make.

“We disrupt the status quo” – That’s Avantari for you

dhyana meditation
dhyana meditation application

Having developed pioneering technologies in the fields of AI, VR, AR, holograms, biomedical engineering and embedded systems, Avantari has created quite a stir in both Indian and international markets such as the USA and EU.

The team said “At the heart of our activity we always thrived to do the things that are new and unique. The funds we earned by making products for clients, we put into making our own product. Luckily, the Olympic coach of India for Badminton, P.Gopichand noticed us, and we embarked on a partnership, which bolstered us greatly.”

The passionate set of minds at Avantari have developed a meditation tracking device in the form of a smart wearable ring called Dhyana, thereby achieving a remarkable feat – making the intangible practice of meditation tangible/measurable so that you know how well you’re able to meditate. Dhyana measures your mindfulness in terms of HRV and breathing to ensure a relaxed and focused approach to meditation, also providing a post-session detailed breakdown report.

Marching ahead with big dreams

Smart Dhyana meditation device

The company has already worked with big names of the industry from across the globe. It has sold over 500+ products and has 10k+ app users, globally. Launching high-end products like Dhyana is a significant step in the direction of its dreams. Avantari intends to become the leader in the wearable technology domain, with an expertise on general, specific & direct/indirect mental well-being.

Lavana Art : A digital art gallery that is raising awareness about art and artists and giving them a platform to succeed

lavana art

The principle of true art is not to portray, but to evoke.”  – Jerzy Kosinski

Without art, life would be meaningless. Art makes us fall in love with life. Our feelings and thoughts would lay buried under a heavy cloak of civility and politeness if art wouldn’t come around to touch our soul and evoke our deepest feelings, inspire us and most importantly, connect us with other people. This rising consciousness has led to the growth and popularity of art galleries across the globe. India, being the melting pot of art and culture, is no exception.

Founded on 29th November 2019 by a passionate entrepreneur named Mrudit Valia, Lavana Art is well on its way to becoming an established and trusted art gallery, offering a wide variety of authentic crafts to art connoisseurs/ enthusiasts all around the world. Lavana Art is a go-to platform of established as well as upcoming artists for the design community, realty developers, hoteliers, art collectors and even the first-time buyers with a social cause in mind.

How art found its way

Growing up in the 4th generation of a business family, the dynamic founder Mrudit is a relentless pursuer of hope, positivity and drive who was always attracted towards starting a business and making an impact in the society. Family played a big role in building up his love for art. In his own admission “Art has always been my passion since childhood. My mother is an artist and I would see her paint; a white canvas where white would beautifully disappear as she painted in her studio.

My parents loved to travel wherever we went, my father would take us to museums, art exhibits; I would click pictures, make notes, learn about artists- it would be something I looked forward to the most.” His natural inclination towards entrepreneurship along with an MBA degree in Strategic Marketing from USA helped him maneuver through the tough world of startups. He further added “I returned to India in 2012 to join the family business but my heart was still looking to follow my passion. In India, artists don’t get their due because of lack of representation. ” Finally, Mrudit came up with his brainchild, Lavana Art, a digital platform where artists, buyers and art lovers could seamlessly connect with adequate aid of technology.

Lavana Art : An art gallery with a difference

lavana art

As a popular online art gallery Lavana Art aims to connect art collectors with art creators along with ensuring a physical art viewing experience, based on the art collectors’ needs. There’s a collection of more than 500 artworks and more than 50 artists to choose from. Customers can sit in the comfort of their homes and offices, search for their favorite artworks and order the lovely art pieces online. For those who want to see paintings before buying, provisions are available for physically showing it to them at their own convenience.

Talking about his labor of love, Mrudit says “My products are artworks such as paintings, sculptures and traditional art. We are different from others in the market where in we directly source all of the art directly from the art creators which are certified by the artists themselves. Also we give physical purview of selected artworks to clients before buying in our studio in our office in Mumbai, which a lot of online galleries don’t do.” Interestingly, there is only one unique piece of each artwork available in the online gallery. Free delivery is available all over India and a certain amount is charged to ship it internationally.

Present Endeavors and Future Goals

lavana art

Presently, Lavana Art clients include art collectors, people buying artworks for their homes, interior designers & architects, HNIs, CEOS, CFOS, COOS, business owners, professionals, art connoisseurs. This is not just a money-making venture but also an opportunity to make a difference in society. A part of the sale proceeds from this site goes towards ‘The Minds Foundation’ (www.mindsfoundation.org) whose mission is to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental illness by providing cost-effective and high-quality care. Hence, your contribution towards buying art from this site would make someone’s life a little better. Finally, while signing off, the founder says “We would like to expand our team at LAVANA ART and grow it to a level where we can raise funds and be well known brand for artworks in India.”

RDS Design Studio : An incredible success tale of two girls who fulfilled their dream of creating a world-class interior design studio

RDS Design Studio

“Interiors shouldn’t be static works of art. You’re meant to interact with them.” – Alexandra Angle

Beautiful homes don’t just happen. They require meticulous planning and execution. More than a fat bank balance, what matters most is the aesthetic sensibility to understand and imbibe the spirit of the dwelling space. This is one of the most interesting aspects of interior designing. It’s not just about decking up spaces with pretty artefacts but more importantly, making the place come alive. Due to a fast-growing real-estate sector, plush designer studios have cropped up in most of the metropolitan cities across India.

One of the most sought after design studios in recent times, Mumbai-based RDS Design Studio has successfully carved out a niche for itself by infusing a unique blend of subtlety and bling that is as distinctive as its appealing. Founded in 2014 by Drashti Parikh and Shweta Makwana, RDS Design Studio has achieved the exceptional feat of completing over 100 projects including both residential and commercial establishments.

How the success story unfolded

RDS Design Studio

The dynamic duo of Drashti and Shweta always had an unwavering dedication and strong willpower to make things happen. Prior to taking a plunge to collaborate and start their own studio, both had worked with reputed firms and gained sufficient experience. Parikh had worked with celebrity designer and founder of NVS Design Studio, Namrata Shroff. Meanwhile, Makawana, an alumnus of Rachna Sansad and also a commerce graduate had worked at an architectural and design firm H.M. Jhaveri & Sons before taking a leap as an entrepreneur along with Parikh.

RDS Studio : Helping you create beautiful interiors of your dreams

RDS Design Studio

RDS Design Studio is one name that commands respect and admiration from its customers as well as its competitors for the amazing work that it has done so far. It specializes in design development and beautification of commercial, residential, kids’ furniture, kids spaces and hospitality projects. Over the six years of its establishment, it has successfully transformed a plethora of spaces from offices to restaurants/cafes and homes. For any interior designing firm to flourish, it has to latch on to the pulse of its clients and consumers. The unique quality of the creative duo is that they design spaces understanding the clients and kids psychology – how they function, what they want, what appeals to them and what is the overall vision.

Here comes the awesome twosome

RDS Design Studio

According to Shweta Makawana (28 years), co-founder of RDS Design Studio, her personal design style involves playing with lines, especially straight lines which is the most versatile design element and also the basis of any form of design. In one sentence her style mantra is, “Make it simple, but significant.” “For us, simplicity of design to create beautiful spaces which appeal to its social and physical context is most important,” said Drashti Parikh (29 years), an alumna of Rachna Sansad. “I love travelling and knowing a new culture and history of those places. Somehow, those experiences get imbibed in my work.”

Now the parting shot….

Amidst the growing uncertainty that has gripped the nation, thanks to Covid-19, one thing that keeps the studio going is the absolute trust reposed in them by the loyal clients. This is what has earned through years of honesty and hard work. “Our clients often tell us that we can keep things traditional, but make it a place where they can be Zen,” said the duo who have designed several homes and workplaces for many celebrities including from Bollywood, Sports, Legal and from the world of business but due to client confidentiality they can’t reveal those works.

Tips to design a cool Workspace on a budget

Workspace

While creating an ideal workspace sounds exciting, there are some basic rules one must follow. Jasmine Jhaveri a veteran in the Interiors space says, “Create a workspace that reflects your company’s culture. Your decor, the choice of colours, the atmosphere you create must all be in sync with the spirit of the company.”

An Interior Stylist and a Design Enthusiast, Jasmine Jhaveri of Jasmine Jhaveri Design Studio is known for her infectious passion for design and creating highly customised spaces that are harmonious and cohesive.

Based in Mumbai, with almost 16 years of experience and having styled homes and offices of large corporates, industrialists and homes in London & Amsterdam, she is known for her discerning eye and her distinct visual language.

Here are some cool tips from her to design a Workspace on a budget:

Open plan layouts:

An open-plan layout is a great option for small offices as they seem roomier. Consider using glass cubicles and dividers instead of concrete as it saves cost of building walls.

However, the “new normal” dictates that we incorporate the use of plexiglass screens to create partitions amongst employees for safety and hygiene purposes.

Decorate right:

  • Depending on the nature of your brand, one of the most effective workspace design techniques is to showcase your own products. After all, your products are the best storytellers of your brand.
  • An obvious client touchpoint is the reception area, so this should be branded to clearly state who you are and what you do. If you do not have the luxury to accommodate a reception desk use a large creative signage on a wall or hang a backlit signage box from the ceiling.
  • Make sure to use color to your advantage.Colors like blue and green induce calm, and research suggests that workspaces using these colors can improve efficiency and focus, while a color like yellow may stimulate creativity.
  • If painting large walls is out of budget use Decals effectively.
  • Include unusual materials like turf flooring in a meeting room. The idea is to take your shoes off and walk around to get the ideas flowing.

Wall story:

  • Don’t forget to dress the walls. Creative ideation is about more than work – it’s about life and observations.
  • Curate your workspace like a gallery. Rotate works often to elicit fresh responses to the space and stimulate novel ideas.
  • Use chalkboards where one can doodle or jot down their ideas when the creative flash strikes rather than a startlingly white whiteboard.

Ergonomics:

  • Buy comfortable chairs that support the spinal curves.
  • Sitting is the new “smoking” with research proving that sitting for hours on end can be the cause of many common medical conditions. Introduce more standing options in the workplace.
  • Create a multi-purpose work environment and an office space in which everyone has a suitable place to work within their own comfort zones. Some prefer to stand; others like to sit on the sofa and some people move around.
  • Buy furniture which is compact and is versatile.Don’t buy too much but make sure what you buy has a character that speaks your brand language.
  • In fact, buying is not essential. If you’re short on budget you could always look at what you have and find ways to uplift it.

Go natural:

  • Choose a rather brightly-illuminated place with fresh air.

  • Nature has been shown to boost creativity, so make sure you incorporate some indoor plants in your workspace.

Good lighting:

  • A well-lit room is one of the most important elements of a well-designed office.

  • Your space can be equipped with the most unique furniture, the best color combinations and chic desks, but none of that will truly shine unless you have the right lighting.

  • By simply letting in more light, adding mirrors, and switching out light bulbs, you can access untapped sources of light throughout the office while maintaining your budget.

Organise your workspace:

  • We can’t ignore the fact that offices require a lot of storage space.
  • A cluttered work space can feel overwhelming, while a tidy space will keep the team calm and organized.
  • Pegboards are fantastic organizing boards and look pretty cool too.
  • Storage boxes to house things like writing utensils, papers before they’re processed, and miscellaneous office supplies will instantly make your space appear more organized.

The workspace should be divided:

  •  Divide your workspace in two – the work zone and the chill zone.

  • A break-out space doesn’t necessarily mean only to chill out and eat lunch, but can actually be used to aid productivity. Make them as fun and creative as possible for a cooler, more modern environment. How about a board game table? Chess anyone? Or a small jukebox to create a fun vibe while making your coffee.

  • The great thing about break-out spaces is the freedom to design them however you want them to look. There’s no need to keep them as formal as you may design the main office space.

Remember: Your workplace is more than walls, desks and computers.  It’s a second home for some employees. It’s a recruitment tool for hiring and most importantly, a place to inspire your team. When done right, it can have a huge impact on motivating people to work hard in shaping and growing your brand.

After all the way we decorate affects our feelings and this has a direct impact on our overall wellbeing.

The concept of decorating interiors is not a new one. No, we haven’t suddenly woken up to the importance of beautifying our homes and ensuring sanctity of the spaces that we live in. However, thanks to scores of interior decoration enterprises that have cropped up in the last couple of years, we are now spoilt for choice. Today we can doll up our homes as per our aesthetic sensibilities without denting a big hole in the pocket.

Launched on 11th January, 2010 by Sanjana Bahl, Nostalgia Enterprises is one of the most promising names that is gradually creating waves in the market. The main aim of the venture is to help transform interiors of both Indoor and Outdoor Spaces with elegant Home Decor Pieces, Bespoke Furniture and Home Accessories.

Laying the foundation stone of a dream

For founder, Sanjana, the journey has been as exciting as it’s been challenging. Starting a new venture right from scratch is no mean feat. She began by sourcing decor pieces from various places across India and abroad. In fact, her search for unique, eye-catching decorative pieces took her to various South East Asian countries and soon she started supplying to well-established home decor stores. Rest of the story, the spunky lady would narrate in her own words.

“I realized that the orders increased and the pieces were really being appreciated and at that point I realized I should start my own venture and Nostalgia Enterprises was born. Initially I only started with Home Decor Pieces for Indoor Spaces, soon we started with small furniture pieces like coffee tables, two seaters, center tables and consoles.”

Building a dream brick by brick

After overcoming several hurdles, Sanjana finally opened her first store in Worli,Mumbai. Like any entrepreneur with a sharp business acumen, Sanjana’s next obvious step was expansion of the products range to include furniture and large sculptures.  However, there were constraints for space. Around this time, friends and family had second homes in Alibag and she got a lot of orders for large Sculpture pieces and Outdoor Furniture for their homes.

She further says “I realized Alibag had no home decor store so I decided to move my venture to Alibag and into a larger space. We are now located in Zirad, Alibag and we do Decor Pieces and Bespoke Furniture in a variety of materials and sizes for both Indoor and Outdoor spaces as well as some beautiful Home Accessories and Giftables too. We have also opened a small store on Mandwa Jetty 3 years ago besides our Flagship store in Zirad, Alibag which was opened 10 years ago.”

Nostalgia Enterprises: Helping you create a home sweet home

Nostalgia Enterprises is ten-year old interior decoration startup that serves as a One Stop Shop for people with Second Homes where clients are looking for a lot of Outdoor Furniture as well as Fibre and Stone Statues and Fountains to enhance their Outdoor Spaces as well their indoor spaces. Instead of hopping from one shop to the next, they find it convenient when everything is under one roof. Due to a surge in demand, deliveries are done all over India and the clients are mostly people with second homes and also resorts.

Planning for a better tomorrow

Beating the blues of slow economy and the ongoing Covid pandemic, Sanjana is optimistic about the future.

About her future plans, she says “I’ve been thinking of taking my venture online for a long time but during this pandemic I realized this is the only way forward and we are working very hard on getting it up as soon as possible and shortly we’ll be online. In 5 years we definitely plan to increase our reach across India with our products going online and keep increasing our product range and hope to be a household name.”
