Whose brainchild is this?

Shubhra Ruparel founded Mumkin in December 2019 at the age of 27. She’s a Computer Engineer and an MBA. She has worked with IBM India as well. She won a gold medal during her undergraduate degree, felicitated and awarded merit/excellence certificates by various institutions including Institute of Engineers, India for my performance as well as recognition by the Alpha Beta Gamma Society.

After interviewing women across the country, she discovered that it’s the same process for women across all religions. Their experiences, foods that they should have and various beliefs were all very similar. She even enrolled in Pregnancy Classes to put herself in their shoes before coming up with products for them. She teamed up with a panel of women experts – gynaecologists, pregnancy experts, nutritionists, a mental wellness counsellor and a child development expert – to get the best guidance to curate these boxes.

Due to this, several essential items both for the mother and the baby were unavailable and there was severe shortage of essential goods. Preggy curated a special Childbirth Essentials Kit which included 10 essential items for mothers delivering babies during lockdown which were directly sourced from suppliers across the country and priced at a nominal rate. VyomFit: An online fitness training venture that aims to inculcate fitness as a habit by making it accessible to Anyone, Anytime, Anywhere

In order to stay fit and healthy, one has to make certain changes in his/her life which would require challenging oneself and coming out of the comfort zone. Many give up before they begin while many quit halfway through. While getting yourself motivated to hit the gym isn’t easy, with the right kind of training and motivation, it is possible. Launched on 19th January 2021 by an ex-IITian and CrossFit trainer Nitheesh Ballal, VyomFit is an online fitness training venture that aims to develop fitness as a habit by making it accessible to Anyone, Anytime, Anywhere. It offers an end to end training experience right from goal setting to executing the needed step to achieving the goal.

And the journey towards fitness and well-being began

Nitheesh’s journey towards health and fitness began quite early in life. As someone who had been a State-Level Volleyball Player, U-14 Carrom Champion, Mr. Inter IIT, Fittest in Pune, he was already creating ripples with his outstanding achievements.

Then, in his final year at IIT Kharagpur, he started helping people transform themselves and achieve their fitness goals. While working in the corporate sector, he established his fitness startup named Transformations Elite. Nitheesh further elaborates “During that stint I got introduced to CrossFit and 6 months down the line I had my certification and 3 more months down the line, I quit my job and we started CrossFit Vyom, a physical CrossFit Affiliate in Pune.”

After the initial hiccups, when things became stable, COVID happened. He explains “We had to shut down our centre and I was left to do nothing. My restless mind started exploring opportunities to provide online fitness offerings.”

Soon a website was set up and live fitness classes began through ZOOM. The positive response from the clients acted as an encouragement. That is how VyomFIT was born.

A crisis has given birth to the startup but it’s the courage of the founder that’s keeping it going. VyomFIT is committed to its goal of making people aware about the virtues of fitness. A journey laden with persistence, perspiration and self-belief

An environmental architect by profession, Niveditha always wanted to craft a career that would reflect her artistic skill and imaginative mind. Her passion encompassed multiple facets of life such as dance, history, painting and architecture. In fact, she considers painting and sketching as “a medium of expression to the mythological and allegorical subjects to life”.

But what made her plunge into the turbulent waters of entrepreneurship? Niveditha explains “One day I was looking for a dance print jewellery on Amazon but I couldn’t find one and that’s when it hit me that I could make one for myself! Since then, there’s been no looking back. I’ve taken online classes through my pregnancy and after my daughter’s birth and I have been at it since then.” In fact, to help overcome borderline postpartum depression, Niveditha was advised to “take up something and work on it for 2 hours everyday”. Turning this obstacle into an opportunity, she decided to learn a craft that has widely influenced Indian art and architecture and “has vast scope for creativity in terms of molding, painting and assembling”.

Launching the label on her daughter’s second birthday was a huge milestone. With support and encouragement from her family, this ‘Mompreneur’ is living up to the challenge of raising a child while chasing her dreams.

Each piece at Clay Bae is handcrafted with natural terracotta clay, requiring a lot of patience & dedication for a unique and perfect output. Outlining the process, Niveditha says “I first start with molding the wet clay which then goes to a professional pottery studio for firing. Then it is painted to detail, assembled and packed. I strictly follow low cost, sustainable packaging-use of handmade papers, cardboards, paper tape, old newspapers among other things.”

The Hyderabad-based startup offers a wide range of terracotta products such as handcrafted earrings, jhumkas, neck-pieces and anklets. The Sass Project is a fashion brand founded by Sujata Kapoor, Sanya Kapoor and Sara Kapoor on 1st October, 2020. Their mission is to embrace customisation and provide the best fitting to everyone. They want customers to get what they deserve – a great fit.

SASS actually stands for Sujata and Sanya Sara – where Sujata is the mother and Sanya and Sara are her daughters. Sujata has been in the textile industry for over 10 years. During the lockdown, the trio realized that there is a spectacular waste of fabric in the office. To be sustainable and move towards a zero waste ethic, they decided to create an Instagram page and sell kurtis made out of the leftover material. Gradually, the demand started increasing and they decided to take it up full time. They started a new line of clothing and built this brand from there. They sell padded and adjustable tops, dresses, sets and more.
