Similarly when we give a gift to somebody, we try to find something beautiful that will bring joy to the receiver for years to come. So with an aim of spreading joy, Shraddha created her own line of resin art products called Meraki by Shraddha that can be customized as per your preference.
The word Meraki has its origins in Greek which means “Doing something with a sense of pride and care”. In English it could be loosely translated as the labour of love we see from certain craftsmen, artists, chefs or creatives in their pieces of work. Meraki is the magic factor that gives any task a deeper and more holistic meaning. It is the soul, creativity, or love put into something; the essence of yourself that is put into your work. It is this essence that sets Shraddha’s work apart from the rest.
Art Attack
Shraddha was blessed with a keen sense of aesthetics and a sharp eye for detail which drew her towards various art forms throughout her life and also encouraged her to pursue art as education. Hailing from Gorakhpur, UP, she married early and subsequently had two children. Busy with responsibilities she had no time to pursue her passion.
When the lockdown was announced, Shraddha thought of devoting time to her art decided that she could spend her time in a more productive manner by giving her creativity a physical manifestation. So in September 2020 during the nationwide lockdown, at the age of 27 with an initial capital of Rs 50k, Shraddha began her creative venture Meraki.
“I could not have done this without the help and support of my family who encouraged me to pursue my art professionally. We offer handmade resin products which include trays, coasters, plates, clocks, tables and much more. We also provide themed products as per client requirements,” shares the founder.
Spreading Smiles
A glance at her product catalog will tell you about Shraddha’s affinity for colour and personalization. She uses every colour of the rainbow and ensures that each product is eye catching in its own way. From various techniques to a superlative finish, these products can be used for a long time. All products can be customized as per preferences of size, colour, name and quantity. Her passion and dedication towards her art has also won her the appreciation of numerous clients who have shared testimonials after using her products.
“My goal is to bring a smile to clients face through my art. I enjoy creating unique pieces and being a small part of client’s lives through Meraki. In a short period of time we have created name plates, wall art, trays, tissue boxes, key chains, jewellery stands and many more products with the help of resin,” Explains Shraddha.
Meraki currently takes orders through its Instagram page and operates from its own studio space in Gorakhpur. The brand has successfully fulfilled 100 orders from a number of clients across the country and aims to scale up further. “I want to collaborate with architects in my city and design products that are loved by all. I would also like to collaborate with other artists so that we can synergize our creativity,” concludes Shraddha.
