The lockdown saw the baking business booming. Home bakers were baking stuff and posting on social media in heaps. This trend was noticed by Tejas Ajmera – founder La Di Da Desserts – who wanted to start a café. What he realized was that once the lockdown was lifted, home bakers would go back to their jobs. Result? A supply gap in the market.
A gap that could be filled by a patisserie that could curate a great menu at an attractive price.
As luck would have it Tejas’s wife knew Amol Shirodkar a chef – now a co-founder – who worked with a five-star hotel. Tejas and Amol met and everything just fell into place.
“We started with an initial investment of 30 lakhs and now the business pays for itself,” says Tejas proudly.

Taking this vision ahead, La Di Da crafts 6 Menus a year. A 365-day Menu is the daily one. Health Indulgence menu where everything is sugar-free, gluten-free, just one item uses palm sugar. Love Edition, Summer Sensation, Diwali Menu, Seasonal Menu and the Festive Menu… Yes, the customer is literally spoilt for choice!
Cakes, Tarts, Eclairs, Brownies, Bon Bons, Truffles, Tiles, everything is made from scratch. Clients always comment on how fresh and delicious every order is.
