The lockdown saw the baking business booming. Home bakers were baking stuff and posting on social media in heaps. This trend was noticed by Tejas Ajmera – founder La Di Da Desserts – who wanted to start a café. What he realized was that once the lockdown was lifted, home bakers would go back to their jobs. Result? A supply gap in the market.
A gap that could be filled by a patisserie that could curate a great menu at an attractive price.
As luck would have it Tejas’s wife knew Amol Shirodkar a chef – now a co-founder – who worked with a five-star hotel. Tejas and Amol met and everything just fell into place.
“We started with an initial investment of 30 lakhs and now the business pays for itself,” says Tejas proudly.
A menu to get your taste buds go humming La Di Da with delight
“We are a high quality and inventive patisserie kitchen. Our focus is on being a truly exclusive dessert brand and not just a cake shop,” says Amol. Taking this vision ahead, La Di Da crafts 6 Menus a year. A 365-day Menu is the daily one. Health Indulgence menu where everything is sugar-free, gluten-free, just one item uses palm sugar. Love Edition, Summer Sensation, Diwali Menu, Seasonal Menu and the Festive Menu… Yes, the customer is literally spoilt for choice!
Cakes, Tarts, Eclairs, Brownies, Bon Bons, Truffles, Tiles, everything is made from scratch. Clients always comment on how fresh and delicious every order is. Being in the food business team La Di Da Desserts appreciates how individual tastes can vary. Some people like it sweet, some like it tarty, some like it dark, some light and crispy so what is offered is a superb selection of European, Mediterranean, French and some Italian dessert delights too.
Bringing customers the luxurious taste of authentic 5-star hotel desserts at a price that is a real steal! How tempting is that!

With a menu as extensive and an offering that is yet truly selective in presentation, taste and price, the La Di Da Desserts kitchen has sent out delicious, melt in the mouth tidings of sometimes creamy or sometimes crunchy, sometimes nutty or sometimes fruity with over 2000 orders, dishing out more than 5000 items.
Says Tejas, “Our attention to detail has got us positive word of mouth recommendations and in turn growth. Festivals like Christmas, Diwali, New Year and special days like Mother’s Day or Father’s Day, Valentines are prime days.”
In the coming 5 years, expanding Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Pune, Ahmedabad and Surat. Also, once the business reaches a benchmark revenue the idea is to raise funds to scale up operations to reach a milestone of becoming the biggest brand in the dessert space.
