Before the use of digital devices and printers, paintings were the primary form of creativity and expression. They are one of the oldest known forms of visual expression. Paintings are primarily a form of visual art that captures the expression of ideas and emotions on a two-dimensional surface. Artists use the elements of shape, colors, line, tones, and textures in unique ways to produce paintings that convey sensations of movement, volume, space, and light – traditionally on a flat surface. Several paintings by eminent painters have created history as they have appealed to the public across generations, thus gaining the title of priceless paintings.
So with an aim to provide an artistic expression to her creativity, Priyanka founded Glimpse Craft which undertakes customized artwork as well as creates pieces using paper crafts and paper cutting techniques. Priyanka tries her hand at different art concepts such as portraits, mandala as well as nature drawings.
Creativity Strikes
After completing her BBA, she was looking for an outlet to channel her creativity having a keen incline towards art all her life. “During my college days I used to love to make watercolour pictures for myself as well as my loved ones. I even started experimenting with other materials like clay and paper. But in those days I just used to do this as a hobby. But one day I thought, why not post thins onto Instagram and see what other people feel about my art,” says Priyanka.
As soon as she uploaded her work onto social media, she began getting lots of likes, particularly for her scenic paintings. Soon a client from Canada approached her and wanted to purchase one of her works. That was when Glimpse Craft was born and there was no looking back after that. “Through Instagram, I got in touch with several other artists, learnt various different techniques, styles and art works created by fellow artists. It was a learning curve for me and I realized how passionate I am towards my art.” Explains Priyanka.
Breaking Barriers
Priyanka began Glimpse Craft in 2018 with an initial capital of Rs 2000. Since then she has created more than 28 customized artworks and served clients across the globe from countries like USA, Canada, Turkey, Germany and many more.
As her brand continues to grow, Priyanka wishes to learn the techniques required to work with papercraft. “I think papercraft can be another interesting creative medium so I would love to explore it so that I can eventually offer it to my clients. I also hope to associate with reputed art agencies so that my work reaches a wider audience,” concludes Priyanka.
